In Beck's mind he is his world's savior. Whether they want it or not. And sure, a little revenge along the way, a few benefits for all involved. But they're well deserved. The world needs him to guide him.

Stark described him as unstable. A notion Beck dismisses as jealousy. Beck is passionate, determined, maybe a little moody, but who wouldn't be having their life's work taken from them. Being mocked.

He's seen the world bow to these super beings, ignoring the reason of persons with intellect for those with flashy costumes and a bit of brawn. The world needs correcting and he'll do whatever it takes to do it. A few lives here and there are just the price that has to be paid, but they'll be grateful when it's all over. They'll eat his story up and praise him as their new hero. Their new God.

Would an unstable person be able to achieve all Beck's managed?

(Dude is dangerous, manipulative, and very unstable. He holds a grudge, and has very little regard for others, verging on possible sociopathy. He buys into his own stories and his own hype, and he won't hesitate to take out anyone he thinks is in his way. He prefers to play the long con, he can be patient, manipulate people into playing right into his hand. He enjoys it, if he's being honest.)

Real Abilities

Genius-Level Intellect: As a principal developer at Stark Industries, Beck was undeniably intelligent. He was able to plot a scheme with untold number of contingency plans that very nearly succeeded, and even in his apparent death he was still able to pull a final punch.

Master Scientist/Engineer: Showcased in his work developing the hologram technology as well as his part in creating the suit, drones, and Mastering E.D.I.T.H. While working with Tony Stark, Beck proved to have uncanny skills in science, using them all to develop B.A.R.F. and used his scientific knowledge to develop the drones.

Master Engineer: During the process of transforming into Mysterio, Beck used his engineering skills to create his suit, helmet, and modified drones to work with his holograph technology.

Master Tactician/Manipulation: With countless contingency plans, Beck was able to adapt to almost any situation, working on the fly when things veered too far off course. He guides and manipulates events to work out exactly how he wants without anyone the wiser.

Mysterio's 'Abilities'

Myterio appears to fly, and project an energy based magic from his palms. He leaves a trail of green smoke, which also fills his helmet when he wears it. He appears to be able to draw on more energy, though it seems to be painful. His powers borrow from many of the MCU heroes and he keeps his explanations of them vague and showy.
